But keep this in mind when dressing. Wearing clothing that flatters your physical shape is perfectly appropriate, but be careful! Clothing that is too form-fitting and shows too much skin can be considered inappropriate in many work environments. So make sure to check with HR if your preferred outfit is approved and considered appropriate.

In the study, Mind Games: Sometimes a White Coat Isn’t Just a White Coat, Dr. Galinsky and his colleague Hajo Adam made three experiments with the purpose of investigating whether your outfit alters how you approach and interact with the world. In the three experiments, Dr. Galinsky made sure to not vary the clothes but only manipulated with their individual meanings. From the three experiments Dr. Galinsky stated the following:
“Clothes invade the body and brain, putting the wearer into a different psychological state.”
And
“You have to wear the coat, see it on your body and feel it on your skin for it to influence your psychological processes”
What does this mean? You may ask.
It means, like mentioned before, not only does your outfit determine someone’s first impression of you and gives clues to your personality, but it can also affect you, the wearer of the outfit.
Have you ever noticed how you feel when you put on that one outfit of yours?
